The mission of the pop composer is the reinterpretation of the history of pop.

ὕλη/μορφή

Pop music is, after its death, an absolute formality—for only form can justify further bubblegum development.  The death of pop is the separation ὕλη and μορφή, i.e., the fact that they’re not anymore sides of a same phenomenon.  They’ve declared their independence.  And, while the ὕλη is a set of 37 thematical possibilities (“I love you”, “you’ve changed”, etc.), the μορφή is the rest.
